28 May MEGRAME INTRODUCES THE LOW ENERGY WINDOW
UAB “Megrame Medis” which is part of the Megrame Group and a leader in manufacturing timber and timber aluminium windows, doors and curtain walls in Lithuania, has created a low energy standardised Euro 110M window, with a U-value 45% better than any other standard timber window in Lithuania. This autumn the window will be sold in Lithuania and abroad. The U value tests were carried out and certified in the leading and EU accredited laboratory of Kaunas University of Technology.
The window, EURO 110M” has the lowest U-value compared to all results of the most recent tests carried out in the National laboratories of Lithuania. The U-value is only 0, 78 W/ (m2K). The window panel consists of 110 mm timber profile, high quality “G-U” hardware, triple glazed and argon filled cavity.
Global energy efficiency and ecological tendencies influenced the decision to manufacture the window. The company is strongly focused to export the majority of its production to Eastern and Western European countries. The thermal characteristics of the Euro 110M windows comply with the requirements of the “passive house” where popularity is gradually increasing in Lithuania. A “passive house” is an ultra-low energy building that requires little energy for space heating or cooling. The windows for passive houses should have a U-value not higher than 0.8 W/(m2K) according to the new European standard (EN 10077).
Basic Characteristics of the Euro110M:
Profile width 110 mm (timber – pine, oak, meranti, mahogany, larch);
High quality German G.U. hardware;
Can be triple glazed with glass unit up to 44mm with Low-E glass, argon filled cavities;
U value up to 0,78 W/m2K.
