Our casement windows are ideally suited to conservation projects because of the traditional aesthetics whilst also incorporating the latest modern operation and security features.

 

Megrame Casements are available as single units, multiple mulled units, or as French casements. A range of cill, frame thickness, finish and ironmongery options are available together with your choice of opening styles to include side hung, top hung, glazed in sash or direct glazed fixed units. All casements come with modern multi point locking high security espagnolette locks

 

Our flush timber Casement Windows offer a choice of frame profile designs and 22mm or 18mm glazing bars to ensure that your aesthetic requirements are achieved (Ovolo, Lambs Tongue, Cove, Putty line, R3).
Due to their fuss-free simple design, they also look excellent in more contemporary properties as well, making this a truly versatile window choice.

Species of wood

Only engineered timber is used to manufacture Megrame windows and doors. This provides superior strength, stability and a knot-free finish – qualities for which our products are renowned.

Standard species of wood:

  • pine (finger-joint or clear faced) FSC® Chain of Custody certified
  • oak
  • larch
  • meranti

Other timber species also available FSC certified. All flush casement windows are manufactured with hardwood Sapele cill.

The timber used to manufacture our products is carefully selected and treated, and with correct installation and proper maintenance MEGRAME windows will last and give satisfaction for several decades

MEGRAME offers fully factory finished high quality timber windows and doors that have the convenience and durability provided by modern finishing technology with the excellence produced by highly skilled craftsmen.

The quality finish of MEGRAME timber windows is obtained using highest quality ecological spray applied, water based, micro-porous finishing system. The finishing coat is elastic and moves together with the wood as well as lets the wood breathe.

A wide variety of RAL and stain colours are available to meet our customers’ requirements. All of our paints and lacquers are environmentally friendly, ecologically clean and harmless to the environment.

Available combinations of window colour:

  • lacquer both sides;
  • lacquer one side and RAL colour other side;
  • RAL colour both sides;
  • different RAL colour on each side.
Glazing

Today’s glazing solutions offer incredible potential to create environments that are comfortable, cost-effective and sustainable.

At MEGRAME we offer a range of double and triple glazing with different performance characteristics – energy saving, solar control, noise reduction, safety, fire resistance.

Available glass unit spacers: aluminium, thermospacers Swisspacer and TGI (colours white or grey as standard).

Ironmongery

Locking System:

  • Our flush Casement Windows utilise twin cam espagnolette locks that have been successfully tested at the UKAS accredited Test Centre to the enhanced security performance requirements of BS 7950, has achieved 50,000 cycles – more than twice the standard requirement – to ensure operational reliability, 240 hours salt spray to ensure weather resistance and meets the enhanced security requirements of Secured by Design. Friction Stays:

  • We utilise the benefits of few different friction stays in our timber flush casement window range. All our top hung windows and side-hung windows use a hinge that is manufactured in the UK and available as austenetic for enhanced corrosion resistance. Standard, Edgress (only side hung), 90˚ (only side hung), Restricted options available. For our heavier side hung sashes, we use a heavy duty hinge ensuring that the product will perform for many years to come. Butt hinges – optional.

Egress friction hinge – Allows casement windows to comply with Building Regulations Approved Document B for fire escape Windows, 16″ hinge opens to a full 90° for emergency exit to comply with BS 5588-1; Composite slider with stainless steel release lever mechanism allows cleaning access from the inside of the building to comply with BS 8213-1; Automatically resets to the fire escape mode when the window is closed; Available in ferritic and austenitic stainless steel.

Restricted friction hinge – Built-in quick release lever allows the window to be fully opened for easy cleaning, total ventilation; Tested to BS6375-2 to load bearing capacity of safety devices; Restrictor automatically relocates and resets when the window is closed.

Glazing bars

Glued on glass timber glazing bars available in 22 mm or 18mm width, height – 19 mm. Types for interior side – Ovolo, Putty line, Cove, Lambs Tongue:

Glazing bars available with or without internal spacer. Glazing bars are also available for aluminium clad timber windows. Window glazing bead profile and internal frame moulds will match the internal glazing bar. External glazing bars is Putty line as standard:
